Trumbo

Directed by Jay Roach from a script by John McNamara, TRUMBO stars Bryan Cranston, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as charismatic Dalton Trumbo, who was the highest paid screenwriter in the world during Hollywood’s golden age. However, with Cold War paranoia on the rise in the 1940s, Trumbo was unjustly sent to prison along with the “Hollywood Ten” for defying the House UnAmerican Activities Committee. Rebellious even after his release, Trumbo became Hollywood’s most prolific blacklisted writer, secretly writing such classics as Roman Holiday and winning two Academy Awards under an alias, eventually clearing his name and triumphantly ending the blacklist once and for all. Alongside Cranston, Helen Mirren, Diane Lane, Michael Stuhlbarg, John Goodman, Elle Fanning, and Louis CK star in the film, which was released by Bleecker Street Media in November, 2015.
