During his confirmation hearings, Thomas’ former employee Anita Hill made allegations that challenged his character and fitness for the job. The explosive hearings that followed brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern-day race relations. Groundswell’s Michael London and Janice Williams executive produced alongside Susannah Grant and Kerry Washington. HBO Films aired the film in 2016 to award-winning success, with Susannah Grant winning a WGA Award and Rick Famuyiwa winning an NAACP Image Award for directing. The film was also nominated for an Emmy as well as a Critics Choice Award. Kerry Washington was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a Critics Choice Award and an NAACP Award for her portrayal as Anita Hill.
