Written by Susannah Grant, CONFIRMATION stars Kerry Washington as Anita Hill at the center of the controversy surrounding Clarence Thomas’ nomination to the Supreme Court in 1991. During his confirmation hearings, Thomas’ former employee Anita Hill made allegations that challenged his character and fitness for the job. The explosive hearings that followed brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern-day race relations. Groundswell’s Michael London and Janice Williams executive produced alongside Susannah Grant and Kerry Washington. HBO Films aired the film in 2016 to award-winning success, with Susannah Grant winning a WGA Award and Rick Famuyiwa winning an NAACP Image Award for directing. The film was also nominated for an Emmy as well as a Critics Choice Award. Kerry Washington was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a Critics Choice Award and an NAACP Award for her portrayal as Anita Hill.
